Timetable
- School and Institution-specific Indicators of Excellence are reviewed and updated as appropriate.
- Potential applicants are encouraged to participate in mentoring support provided by the Learning and Organisational Development Team.
- Heads of Institution should be ensuring that the Staff Review and Development (SRD) process is followed for all employees in their institution.
- The Head of Institution actively reviews the list of eligible employees (provided by HR) and offers them the opportunity to discuss promotion.
- Applicants seek advice on promotion from their Head of Institution (or line manager).
- Promotion Panel memberships are agreed and meeting dates confirmed.
- The scheme launches via an email from the Director of HR.
- Applicants agree referees with their Head of Institution and include these in their application.
- Applicants must submit their applications to the HR Reward Team at acp@admin.cam.ac.uk. The details for submission will be confirmed in due course.
- The Chair or Secretary of the Promotion Panel checks that the applications submitted are complete, requests references and statements, reviews applications and takes the necessary action in preparation for the panel meeting.
- At the panel meeting, the applications are evaluated, scores are awarded and applications are ranked in accordance with the Assessment Criteria.
- After the meeting, the Promotion Panel Chair/Secretary writes assessment records and prepares feedback statements for unsuccessful applicants.
- The Promotion Panels prepare reports of the outcomes for the ACP School Committees for their information.
- The GB receives the recommendations from the Promotion Panels via circulation and confirms its support for promotions under the ACP 6-9 scheme.
- A Report is published in the Reporter in June confirming approval of all promotions.
- Heads of Institution are advised of the outcome of applications in their Institution.
- Applicants are advised of the outcome the following week.
- Final date for feedback to be provided to unsuccessful applicants from Heads of Institution.
- Final date for the lodging of appeals. Appeals may be made only on the ground of an alleged material defect in the application of the procedure or in the documentation which was not prepared by the applicant and was used by committees which have considered the appellant’s application.
- Appeals are considered by School-level Appeal Panels, chaired by the Heads of School.
- Appeal outcomes are communicated to appellants.
